Balikbayan Priority

Plan ahead. Heal safely. Return confidently. Coordinate consultation, surgery, recovery, and follow-up before your trip to the Philippines.

Plan Before You Fly

Your Time at Home Is Valuable. Your Recovery Should Not Be Rushed.

BienPoMD provides priority assistance for overseas patients who need to coordinate travel, consultation, medical requirements, surgery, and follow-up within a limited stay.

Why It Matters

Limited Stay Means Every Appointment Must Be Planned Carefully.

Early preparation helps reduce avoidable delays from incomplete laboratory tests, medical clearance, unavailable schedules, or insufficient recovery time before a return flight.

01

Book Ahead

Choose a consultation date once your travel window is confirmed. Priority scheduling helps the clinic reserve enough time for assessment and planning.

02

Prepare Early

Send your travel dates, medical history, current medicines, and available laboratory results. Requirements may be completed abroad at a reputable facility.

03

Allow Recovery Time

Build follow-up visits, wound checks, swelling, and possible delays into the trip. Surgery should not be placed too close to the return flight.

Recommended Minimum Stay

Give the Body Enough Time to Heal.

These are general planning guides—not guaranteed clearance dates. Your actual stay may need to be longer depending on the procedure, medical condition, healing, complications, and travel requirements.

Minor Procedures · 2–4 Weeks

Examples may include alarplasty, upper or lower blepharoplasty, V-Line liposuction, limited facial or under-eye fat grafting, otoplasty, and lip reshaping.

Major Procedures · 4–6 Weeks or Longer

Examples may include open rhinoplasty, larger-volume body liposuction, Brazilian Butt Lift, major fat grafting, or combined procedures.

Step 1 · Book Before Arrival

Reserve an in-person consultation before arriving, or as soon as your travel dates are confirmed. The procedure date remains subject to assessment, medical clearance, suitability, and schedule availability.

Step 2 · Prepare Labs and Clearance

When surgery is being considered, complete required laboratory tests and medical clearance within one month of the planned procedure. Tests may be performed at a reputable clinic, hospital, or diagnostic laboratory abroad.

Laboratory tests may be required for minor procedures if the patient is 50 or older, will receive sedation, has a medical condition, takes medicines that affect bleeding or healing, or has a previous anesthesia or surgical complication. They are required for major surgery and combined procedures.

Use the form advised by the clinic. Additional tests or medical clearance may still be requested based on your health history, planned anesthesia, and procedure.

Send available results to drbien@bienpomd.com for initial review, or bring complete printed results to the clinic. Final clearance still requires an in-person consultation and physical assessment.

Step 3 · Attend Consultation and Finalize the Plan

Dr. Bien will review your concern, anatomy, medical history, requirements, realistic options, risks, recovery, and follow-up schedule in person. Do not assume that surgery can be performed immediately after arrival.

Protect Your Recovery

Sun exposure, swimming, beach trips, mountain climbing, strenuous activity, social events, heavy makeup, and prolonged photo sessions may need to be limited during recovery. Complete all advised follow-up visits before leaving the country.

Do not book a non-refundable return flight based only on a general timeline. Personal travel clearance depends on the procedure and how recovery progresses.

Plan the Medical Timeline Before the Travel Itinerary.

Tell the clinic when you will be in the Philippines and which procedure you are considering. The team can help you understand whether the available window is realistic.
