How treatment works

Different Scars Need Different Treatments.

The treatment plan may combine several methods in one session. The exact combination depends on the scar pattern, skin condition, and medical assessment.

What Is Acne Scar Revision?

Acne scars can be shallow or deep, raised or depressed. Common types include ice-pick, rolling, boxcar, and hypertrophic scars. Because each type forms differently, one treatment rarely improves every scar equally.

BienPoMD uses a combined treatment plan based on scar mapping, depth, skin condition, previous treatments, and the amount of downtime you can manage.

Who May Benefit?

  • Adults with deep, uneven, or long-standing acne scars
  • Patients whose scars did not improve enough with facials or peels
  • People who understand that several sessions may be needed
  • Patients with controlled acne who can follow aftercare and sun-protection instructions

Active acne, infection, medicines, pregnancy or breastfeeding, a history of raised scars, recent isotretinoin use, skin type, and previous treatments may affect the safest plan. These are reviewed during consultation.

What May Be Included in a ₱20,000 Session?

01

Fractional Co₂ Laser

Resurfaces selected areas and stimulates skin remodeling. It may be used for deeper boxcar scars, uneven texture, and stubborn scars.

02

Microneedling or Mesogun

Creates controlled skin stimulation and may be combined with PRP and selected products to support healing and improve shallow scars and texture.

03

Subcision

Releases fibrous bands beneath rolling or tethered scars so the depressed skin can lift and remodel over time.

04

Air Dissection

An advanced form of subcision that may be considered for wider or more resistant tethered scars.

The published rate starts at ₱20,000 per session. The selected methods are based on the scars being treated; not every method is automatically used for every patient or every session.

What the Package Includes

Recovery and Expected Improvement

Common treatment planAbout 3–6 sessions; individual plans vary
Subcision or PRP downtimeOften about 2–3 days
Fractional CO₂ downtimeMay last up to 7 days
ResultsGradual improvement in scar depth and skin texture

Redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, pinpoint bleeding, dryness, peeling, temporary darkening or lightening, infection, and scarring are possible. Darker skin tones may have a higher risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation, so treatment settings and aftercare must be planned carefully.

No treatment can completely erase acne scars. The realistic goal is visible improvement in depth, texture, and overall skin quality. Results and the number of sessions vary.

Maintenance and Finishing Treatments

After the main scar treatment series, selected patients may consider collagen-support treatments such as PRX-Plus, PRP or PRF, Luhilo, or NCTF. Lesion removal for concerns such as sebaceous hyperplasia, warts, or skin tags is listed at ₱5,000 per area or session when needed.

Treat active acne first when necessary. Scar revision cannot prevent new scars if breakouts continue, and a stronger treatment is not automatically the safer or better option.

Frequently asked questions

Acne Scar Revision FAQs

How many sessions will I need?

About 3–6 sessions is common, but the number depends on the scar types, depth, skin response, treatment combination, and goal.

Is there downtime?

Yes. Subcision and PRP may need around 2–3 days of visible recovery, while fractional CO₂ laser may need up to 7 days. Redness or discoloration can last longer in some patients.

Can treatments be combined?

Yes, when medically appropriate. Combining methods can address different scar types in one plan, but it may also increase swelling, irritation, and downtime.

Will my scars completely disappear?

No. Acne scars cannot be erased completely. Treatment aims to make them shallower and improve texture and skin quality.

Is the ₱20,000 rate for every treatment listed?

The published page lists a combined session starting at ₱20,000. The methods used in your session depend on the scars and are confirmed after assessment.

Can I have treatment if I still have active acne?

Active acne may need to be controlled first to reduce inflammation, infection risk, and the chance of forming new scars. Dr. Bien will advise the correct sequence.

How do I reduce the risk of dark marks after treatment?

Follow the prescribed aftercare, avoid picking or peeling, use strict sun protection, and contact the clinic if you notice unusual pain, blisters, discharge, or worsening discoloration.
